The Heritage Mountaineers knew they had a tough opening day opponent. The Farragut Admirals currenly ranked 7th nationally by MaxPreps, jumped out to a 10 run lead after the first inning which included 3 home runs. The Mountaineers fought back in the 5th inning with 6 runs on 5 hits including a 2 run double by Clayton Shell. Matt Wilburn, Michael Cermak, Jordan Caughron and Tyler Edmonds each singled in the inning.
The Mountaineers will face West High School on Wednesday night in another division matchup before traveling to McMinn County High School for a weekend tournament.
