Intentionally walking Michael Cermak to load the bases twice Wednesday night seemed like a better idea to the William Blount High School baseball team than pitching to Heritage’s power-hitting senior shortstop.
Both times, Tyler Edmonds made the Governors pay.
Filling in for injured senior Clayton Shell in center field and the No. 2 spot in the batting order, Edmonds blasted a fifth-inning grand slam and drove in six runs in his final home game to help the Mountaineers break open a 12-4 victory over their crosstown rival on Heritage’s senior night.
